Your writing never leaves your phone

Hearthkeep is built so that the things you write stay yours alone. This policy explains what that means in plain terms.

What we store

Your letters, reasons, journal entries, check-ins, streak dates, and slip history. All of it lives in the app's private database on your device. There is no account to create, no server to sync to, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

What we never do

We never read your writing, upload it, share it, or sell anything about you. We can't — the data never reaches us. There is no backend that receives your content.

Notifications

The optional evening check-in reminder is scheduled locally on your phone by iOS. Nothing is sent to or received from a server to make it work.

Subscriptions

Hearthkeep Plus purchases are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your name, card, or payment details — only whether an active subscription exists on the device.

Deleting your data

Settings → Erase everything permanently removes all of your content from the device. Deleting the app does the same. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, that's all it takes.

Children

Hearthkeep is intended for adults navigating a breakup and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Our commitment — that your writing stays on your device — won't change.
